THE ANDRRA PRADESH CONTRACT LABOUR (REGULATION AND ABOLITION) ACT RULES, 1971

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section 35 of Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970, (Act 37 of 1970) the Governaor of andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following rules, Supplement to Part II of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dated 22nd July, 1971, as required under sub-section (1) of the said section of the Act.
1. Short title and Commencement
1) These rules may be called the andrra pradesh contract labour (regulation and abolition) act rules, 1971
2) They shall Extend to and be in force in the whole of the state of andhra Pradesh.
In these rules, unless the subject or context otherwise requires, —
(a) “Act” means the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970;
(b) “Appellate Officer” means the Appellate Officer appointed by the State Government under sub-section (1) of Section 15;
(c) “Board” means the State Advisory Board constituted under section 4;
(d) “Chairman” means the Chairman of the Board;
(e) “Committee” means a Committee constituted under sub-section (1) of Section 5;
(f) “Form” means a form appended to these rules;
(g) “Section” means a section of the Act.
